Spousal Surcharge

EXTRA FEE FOR SPOUSE OR DOMESTIC PARTNER'S HEALTH INSURANCE

If you cover your husband, wife, or domestic partner to Tillamook’s health plan, you might have to pay an extra $120 each month (that’s $60 from each paycheck). You only pay this extra fee if they can get health insurance from their own job but choose not to sign up for it.

If they do sign up for their job's health plan (even if they also stay on Tillamook's plan), you don't have to pay the extra fee.

You do pay the extra fee if:

  • Your spouse or domestic partner can get health insurance from their job but is not signed up for it.

You do not pay the extra fee if:

  • You don't have a spouse or domestic partner.

  • Your spouse or domestic partner is signed up for their job’s health plan and also on Tillamook’s plan.

  • Your spouse or domestic partner can’t get health insurance from their job.

  • Your spouse or domestic partner also works at TCCA.

Each year during open enrollment, and any time you make changes to your health insurance, you'll need to complete the Spousal Surcharge Attestation. If you do not complete the Attestation, the Spousal Surcharge will be applied by default.
